Who better than Scottish percussionist Colin Currie to join Maxim and the Orchestra in taking MacMillan’s Veni, Veni Emmanuel on a European tour? A seasoned performer of this seminal work (premiered by the SCO), it forms the centrepiece in a journey of discoveries.

The concerts open with Prometheus introducing the arts and science to humanity, and close with the driving rhythms of Beethoven: either the progression from darkness to blazing light in his Fifth Symphony, or the sheer joy of his Symphony No 7 (only in Brussels).
