Hatty Haynes is a violinist enjoying a varied musical life on both modern and historical instruments.
She first played with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in 2019 and is very happy to be joining as a member in Autumn 2025. In addition to the SCO, Hatty regularly plays with groups including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestre Révoultionnaire et Romantique, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, London Mozart Players and La Serenissima.
Chamber music plays a vital role in Hatty’s musical life and she is a member of Parnassus Ensemble, a flexible ensemble formed while on the Monteverdi Apprentice scheme. She was previously the 1st violinist of the Gildas Quartet, with whom she performed at various festivals and venues, including a memorised performance on Britten’s 2nd Quartet at Kings Place in London.

She was invited to IMS Prussia Cove to study with Andras Keller and has benefited greatly from coaching with Alasdair Beatson, Catherine Manson and Christoph Richter via Chamberstudio mentorships and the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme.
