**The Crub Lullaby is part of Fraser MacDonald’s An Elegy for the St Kildans and was written especially for the Young Singers of the SCO Chorus

Step into the charged and emotional world of Monteverdi’s Madrigals of Love and War in an intimate late-afternoon concert at Edinburgh New Town Church. Outstanding singers from the SCO Chorus Young Singers’ Programme are joined by a small SCO ensemble for a beautiful exploration of music that pulses with passion and poetry.

Drawn from Monteverdi’s groundbreaking Eighth Book of Madrigals, Altri canti d’Amor, Volgendo il ciel and Hor che'l ciel e la terra reveal a composer at the height of his expressive powers, where word and music are inseparable.

The programme is directed by Gregory Batsleer and is complemented by a selection of a cappella choral works, showcasing the versatility and expressive range of these exceptional young performers.

Kindly supported by the Baird Educational Trust.
