Tapestry: a celebration of the SCO's Craigmillar residency
29 May 2026
News Story
Looking back over the SCO's 2025/26 Season, there is no doubt that one of the most moving performances - for musicians and audience alike - was Tapestry, a celebration of the Orchestra's five-year residency in Craigmillar.
The title work of this concert, Tapestry was the result of wide-ranging work across the entire local community, a collaborate effort with music by SCO Associate Composer Jay Capperauld, Moira Morrison and members of the Craigmillar community, and film by Karolina Glusiec. Inspired by the artwork and music that was created throughout the Orchestra's Craigmillar residency, Tapestry explores colour, texture and movement, as well as the personal and creative connections discovered during their five years with Seen and Heard.
Tapestry is kindly supported by the Cockaigne Fund, Cruden Foundation, Daphne Hamilton Charitable Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, HR Creswick Charitable Trust, Plum Trust and Mrs Rowena Goffin's Charitable Trust.
