News Story
What was the first concert you remember attending?
Weirdly, I remember going along to a Bruckner symphony when I was quite small (I only remember snippets as I slept most of the concert!).
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
My Dad liked to advise by asking questions. He once asked me 'Do you feel you really have something to say?'. I can hear him asking this in almost everything I do!
What does creativity mean to you?
Spending time to find the real essence of things, be it in violin playing, making something, or just thinking.
What is the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
Fend off small people pouncing on me!
Which is your favourite Season of the year, and why?
Having grown up with practically no seasons in Queensland (hot and wet, or warm and dryish), each season here is still fascinating to me. Being a gardener though, I find it endlessly thrilling to see the plants emerging in the Spring, and equally, curling up again in the Autumn.
What is your favourite cuisine to make, or just to eat and enjoy?
I love Middle-Eastern feasts, with a tableful of food! I also love baking fruity, spicy cakes and bread.
Where is your 'happy place'?
In the bush, North Stradbroke Island, Australia, hearing the friarbirds and the curlews.

I find it endlessly thrilling to see the plants emerging in the Spring
