Bogdan Božović
Violin
Bogdan Božović is an internationally acclaimed violinist, concertmaster, director and chamber musician. He first gained international recognition as a member of the Vienna Piano Trio, appearing in many of the world’s leading concert halls, before serving as Leader of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and later joining Denmark’s Esbjerg Ensemble.
Since 2022, he has been First Concertmaster of Musikkollegium Winterthur, where he appears regularly as soloist and artistic director. He is also Concertmaster of Ensemble Resonanz in Hamburg.
Equally in demand as a guest concertmaster, Božović has collaborated with orchestras including the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. Recent concerto appearances include Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and Mendelssohn’s Double Concerto, while his work as a director increasingly combines leading from the violin.
Born in Belgrade, Serbia, he studied with Vesna Stanković before continuing his studies with Klara Flieder at the Mozarteum Salzburg and Rainer Schmidt in Basel.
