Berlioz, Mozart and Ravel
Carolyn Sampson joins the Orchestra under the baton of François Leleux for a performance of Berlioz' cantata Herminie. Framed by one of Mozart's most arresting early symphonies and some enchanting storytelling both from The Magic Flute and Mother Goose, this work is perhaps best known for an early appearance of Symphonie fantastique's famous motif.
Please note the performance of this programme in St Andrews, on Wednesday 31 January, is at 7:30pm.

Northern Lights with Joseph Swensen
For the final matinee of the Season, we look across the sea to Orkney, Denmark and Finland in search of the aurora borealis with music by Maxwell Davies, Sibelius and Nielsen. Let by SCO Conductor Emeritus Joseph Swensen, join us as we explore Finnish mythology and await the end of an Orcadian winter.
Not forgetting ...
In addition to the Season concerts above, our chamber music recitals are also matinees.

Café de Paris with Maxim and friends
Gallic charm abounds in this concert of French music for wind instruments and piano. The flute and clarinet are in the spotlight for music by Jolivet and Debussy, while Françaix's quintet and Poulenc's sextet both bring a healthy dose of cheeky wit.
