Jamie Kenny appointed Principal Double Bass
17 Nov 2025
News Story
We're delighted to announce that Jamie Kenny has been appointed SCO Principal Double Bass.
Jamie first came to us as Sub-Principal Double Bass in late 2023 and quickly established himself as an enthusiastic member of the Orchestra - not just in concerts but also as part of the organisation's work in the wider community. He is currently working with the SCO Academy and is one of the SCO Big Noise Buddies, in addition to being part of Sean and Heard in Craigmillar.
"I am absolutely thrilled to take up the role of Principal Bass with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra," Jamie says. "I grew up listening to the Orchestra and always hoped that one day I would have the chance to play with them. This is such an exciting chapter in the Orchestra's history and I am so delighted to be a part of it."
