His Majesty King Charles III renews his Patronage of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra
9 May 2024
News Story
We are deeply honoured to announce that His Majesty The King is to renew his Patronage of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
His Majesty King Charles III is a lifelong supporter of the arts and classical music, and has taken a great interest in the work of the SCO since becoming Patron, as HRH The Duke of Rothesay, in November 2000.
The SCO was delighted that several of its musicians were invited to perform in the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and Queen in Westminster Abbey in May 2023, in the Coronation Orchestra. We were also extremely proud to play a significant role in the Honours of Scotland Service of Thanksgiving in St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, in July 2023, celebrating the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
