Dementia-friendly Concerts

Our dementia-friendly concert series are relaxed afternoon concerts featuring classical favourites and familiar tunes, introduced and performed by SCO musicians, along with tea and biscuits that can be enjoyed as part of the concert experience.

The concert series has been co-created with people living with a dementia, through our partnership with Alzheimer Scotland and the Scottish Dementia Working Group.

Teas, coffees and biscuits will be served from 1pm, concert starts at 2pm and finishes at 3pm.

To help create a relaxed environment:

  • Wheelchair spaces and welcoming front of house staff will be on hand.
  • Cabaret-style seating available with tables.
  • SCO musicians will introduce the music you will hear and there will be programme notes available on each table.
  • There will be brighter lighting levels in the auditorium.
  • There is no need to keep quiet or sit still and you can come in and out of the auditorium during the performance.
  • Quiet spaces will be available in the venue if you need to leave the concert while the performance is happening
  • Coffee, tea and biscuits will be served to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

Tickets: £6 and a carer goes free (limited capacity).
