The Usher Hall is Scotland's only five-star concert hall hosting a range of concerts from rock, pop, classical, jazz, world and folk music. The venue has hosted concerts and events since it opened way back in 1914! A beautiful Edwardian building with a modern twist, which is well loved by performers and audiences all over the world due to its magnificent acoustics.
The Usher Hall aims to be open, accessible and affordable for everyone. Concession prices are available for certain performances and age restrictions may vary. Prices are listed on the event page in their brochure or online. Please ask at time of booking. Not all concessions / offers can be made available online. Concessions usually apply as follows: Young people (max. age can vary), full-time students, unwaged, people in receipt of state pension (and / or between the ages of 60 / 65), Disabled people and their companions and group discounts.
Booking fees may apply for certain shows and vary according to ticket price. A transaction charge of £1.50 applies to telephone and online bookings (non-refundable).
Seating and venue information
Level access: Ground floor access is at the main Cafe Bar and Box Office entrance on Grindlay Street with lifts to all levels.
Wheelchair accessible spaces available: There are 12 wheelchair accessible spaces (Stalls x 10, Grand Circle x 2). Please advise the Box Office at the time of booking if you require one of these. Assistance dogs are welcome.
Hearing aid users: There is a loop system in the hall. Switch your aid to the 'T position access this facility.
The Usher Hall is located in central Edinburgh, just a few minutes walk from Princes Street. We are just off Lothian Road and next to the Traverse Theatre and the Lyceum Theatre.
Buses 1, 10, 11, 15, 16, 24, 34 and 47 all stop outside the Usher Hall and Filmhouse on Lothian Road. Many other bus routes are only a short walk away. For further information and to plan your journey go to the Lothian Buses website.
Coach drop-off points are on Cambridge Street and Grindlay Street. Waiting space is available on Castle Terrace and Johnstone Terrace.
Edinburgh International Airport is 8 miles west of the city centre. Coach and taxi services take approximately 25 minutes.
Edinburgh has two railway stations, Waverley and Haymarket. Both are within a 15 minute walk of the Usher Hall. For timetables visit National Rail Enquiries or call 08457 48 49 50.
There are bike racks situated opposite the entrance to the Usher Hall, outside Nandos.
There is limited on-street car parking and parking is also available at NCP Castle Terrace, behind the Usher Hall and at the Sheraton Hotel across the road. There is a taxi rank opposite the Usher Hall on Lothian Road. Disabled parking is available on Grindlay Street and Cambridge Street.
