Würzburg Residenz with Paul Meyer
In 1997, the orchestra were invited to give three consecutive concerts at the stunning Würzburg Residenz. Over three nights they performed two different programmes featuring the works of W.A. and L. Mozart.
The first programme, conducted by Richard Hickox, featured Mozart's Overture and Ballet Music Idomeneo, Clarinet Concerto with soloist Paul Meyer, and Symphony No 34 in C.
For the second programme, Paul Meyer took on the role of conductor, with horn players Zdenek and Bedrich Yyslar, Radovan Vlatkovic and Joszef Molnar. This programme featured W.A. Mozart's Posthorn Serenade, Horn Concerto No 3 in E-flat and Symphony No 31 in D ‘Paris’, and L. Mozart's Concerto for 2 Horns and Strings in G, Pastorella for Alphorn/Strings and Sinfonia de Caccia for 4 Horns, Strings and Pistols.
