Two of Scottish folk music’s most distinctive contemporary artists, Rachel Sermanni and Jarlath Henderson plus further guest musicians, join the Orchestra to perform brand-new arrangements of their respective repertoires. Between her 2011 debut EP The Bothy Sessions and her latest album Tied to the Moon, Sermanni has expanded her range from gothic-hued indie-folk into rockier, grungier dimensions, unified by poetically stirring songcraft and singular vocal potency. Alongside his long-fêted prowess on uilleann pipes and whistles, Henderson’s 2016 debut album Hearts Broken, Heads Turned won him major acclaim as a gifted and innovative song interpreter.
