Following February's Chamber Sunday concert some of our SCO Patrons took the opportunity to join us for Afternoon Tea in the beautiful and historic home of the Royal Company of Archers. This was another emotional concert, as we said goodbye to Principal Flute Alison Mitchell who played beautifully during her last performance with us. The event which followed the concert was a wonderful celebration of what had been a superb week of performances with François Leleux. François, who was kind enough to speak gallantly from the Minstrel’s Gallery, explained how very special the SCO is and bid a fond farewell to Alison pointing out that ‘'her personality makes everything easier!’' We couldn’t agree more, and she will be sorely missed! Alison had a chance to say her goodbyes to Patrons and Players over a cup of Earl Grey and fruitcake, and we all enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and portraits of the main room.
The hall, which the Chorus also uses as a space to warm up, was the perfect place for a small gathering on this occasion. Thank you to all who came.
