Donald MacDonald wins Leadership award
Congratulations to our Life President Donald MacDonald for winning the Leadership Award at the Arts & Business Scotland awards ceremony on 3rd February.
On receiving the award, Donald said, "It is indeed an honour to receive this lovely award. It very much reflects on the teams involved in the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, both on and off the platform, and also the creative team at the East Neuk Festival. It has been a great pleasure to be involved with such talented and committed people."
Following 29 fruitful years as Chairman of the SCO, Donald retired from the role in 2014 and accepted the honorary title of SCO Life President. Donald and his wife Louise played a key role in the SCO’s success over the last three decades and showed exceptional commitment to the Orchestra’s work both in terms of their personal support, at home and abroad, their generosity as major donors and the warmth of their welcome to everyone who worked with the Orchestra over many years. They commissioned new works for the Orchestra, supported key recording projects and established enduring friendships with staff, orchestra members and many international conductors and soloists who worked with the SCO.
We are very pleased for Donald that his wonderful contribution to the SCO and to the Arts in Scotland has been recognised!
