SCO Chorus Scholarship Programme 2015/16

Following the success of the first season of the SCO Chorus Scholarship Programme, we are again looking for talented young singers aged between 18 and 23 who are keen to pursue a singing career at the highest level to apply for a Scholarship in the 2015/16 Season.

Chorus 2015 11

The aim of this unique Scholarship Programme is to provide an opportunity for up to four young singers, preferably one singer of each voice type, who would like to develop their musicianship and choral singing with one of the country’s finest orchestral choruses.

The choral scholars will receive all the standard benefits of being a member of the SCO Chorus, including free membership, free music, half-price SCO concert tickets, 10% off SCO recordings and regular vocal and language coaching. Additionally, over the course of the 2015/16 Season, exclusive coaching sessions with vocal coach Patricia MacMahon and visiting artists will be offered, and singers may have the opportunity to give a solo recital. They will also receive advice and mentoring from the SCO Chorus’ artistic team. Find out more about the Chorus here.

The scholarship award, in return for committing to a full season of rehearsals and concerts, will be £1,000. The award will be paid in four instalments of £250 (at the end of October, December, March and May) on satisfactory fulfilment of the conditions of the scholarship. Applications are welcomed from any talented young singer aged 18-23 who has first-class sight-reading skills and the commitment and ability to form part of a team.

The 2015/16 Scholarship Programme is now closed to applications.
