A fusion orchestra for young musicians
Vibe is a creative music-making project open to young singers and instrumentalists. In Vibe, everyone works together to create new music which combines the playing styles and musical influences of everyone in the group. With the support of our committed team of professional musicians, young people develop their abilities to compose, improvise and perform. There are no auditions and there is no requirement for young people to be able to read music – the emphasis is on trying out new ideas, building confidence and enjoying making music together.
We deliver Vibe projects in schools and communities across Scotland and with young musicians of all backgrounds and abilities. As part of our SCO in Craigmillar community residency, we are currently working with students and teachers at Castlebrae Community High School and have recently delivered short Vibe courses in Shetland and Glasgow.
Take a look at our New Vibe project here. Based on our successful Vibe project model, New Vibe is delivered in partnership with NHS Lothian Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and supports young people with moderate to severe mental health problems.
An amazing, inclusive experience with infinite opportunity. Would definitely recommend.
It was an interactive and fun experience with professional musicians and it is open to everyone
