Developed in partnership between the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and St Mary’s Music School, the SCO Academy offers free opportunities for aspiring school-aged musicians to work with members of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. There are no auditions and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following a successful blended online and live SCO String Academy course in November 2021, we are pleased to announce a similar programme for the SCO Wind Academy in March 2022.

SCO Wind Academy Spring 2022

Week 1: Sunday 13 March 2 - 3pm | Zoom
Week 2: Sunday 20 March 2 - 3pm | Zoom
Week 3: Sunday 27 March 2 - 4.30pm | George Watsons College Music School

SCO Wind Academy will be delivered either as a blended online and live course. The course is open to school-aged musicians who play flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn and have reached Grade 7. Sectionals will take place over Zoom in weeks 1 and 2, and in week 3 we will play through the repertoire live in Edinburgh. Preparation video materials will be sent in advance of the course.

Places are limited so if your section is full at a point of application, you will be put on a waiting list.

Applications are now open
