Developed in partnership between the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and St Mary’s Music School, the SCO Academy offers free opportunities for aspiring school-aged musicians to work with members of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. There are no auditions and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following a successful blended online and live SCO String Academy course in November 2021, we are pleased to announce a similar programme for the SCO Wind Academy in March 2022.

SCO Wind Academy Spring 2022

Week 1: Sunday 13 March 2 - 3pm | Zoom
Week 2: Sunday 20 March 2 - 3pm | Zoom
Week 3: Sunday 27 March 2 - 3pm | Zoom
or
Week 3: Sunday 27 March 2 - 4.30pm | George Watsons College Music School
(We will announce whether we can go ahead in person by Friday 18 March)

SCO Wind Academy will be delivered either as a fully online or as a blended online and live course, subject to COVID-19 restrictions and guidance. The course is open to school-aged musicians who play flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn and have reached Grade 7. Sectionals will take place over Zoom in weeks 1 and 2, and in week 3 we will play through the repertoire, either online or live, in Edinburgh. Preparation video materials will be sent in advance of the course.

Places are limited so if your section is full at a point of application, you will be put on a waiting list.
