Create. Play. Perform. Be part of SCO VIBE, a creative orchestra for secondary school aged musicians.

SCO VIBE is a fusion orchestra project, bringing together young people (12-18) from any musical background (e.g. classical, folk, rock, jazz) to work collaboratively to create, record and perform their own music.

We understand the impact that creative arts work can have upon individuals and communities. Participants are encouraged to cast their inhibitions aside and let their imaginations take off. Internationally renowned animateur and guitarist Paul Griffiths leads a committed team of professional musicians to help the young people develop their abilities in composition, improvisation and performance.

Perhaps most significantly, SCO VIBE courses help the young instrumentalists and singers develop a range of interpersonal and leadership skills. Young people are encouraged to listen to each other, to work without written notation and to try out new ideas. Working alongside the professional musicians, peer mentors support the younger participants, with both their musical and social skills.

SCO VIBE courses take place annually in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen as well as online and within our community residencies.

I liked how we all came together to create something and that everyone was included
