Since 2009, we have been proud to be the Orchestra in Residence at the University of St Andrews as the first professional orchestra residency at a Scottish university.

In addition to performing five main season concerts in the University's Younger Hall, our annual programme involves several collaborative projects including masterclasses and workshops, the St Andrews and Fife Community Orchestra (StAFCO), and a series of chamber lunchtime concerts curated and performed by SCO musicians. The programme is supported by the annual appointment of a Graduate Trainee from the University of St Andrews.

It was an absolute pleasure to play in a quintet with Nikita, I feel I learned a lot about ensemble playing from his attitude towards the musicality of the repertoire, and I really enjoyed being able to rehearse and perform such a difficult piece like the Dvorak quintet.
