Family Festival
Join the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for a fun-packed session of music making and storytelling for the whole family
In February each year the SCO brings the full Orchestra to families in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth. More than just a concert, these events offer an exciting introduction to orchestral music for young people, with engaging audience interaction, foyer actives and online resources surrounding the concert. Musical storytelling is at the heart of the Festival, with a focus on a different story each year. Explore stories from previous years through the links below.
Music, storytelling, terrific visuals, audience participants, kept my granddaughter riveted!
As part of the Festival we offer a programme of workshops in schools and hospitals which bring music and joy to young people who are unable to join us in the concert hall. We also offer a range of CPD sessions an online resources for teachers and families in preparation for a concert visit, or simply to support creative activity in the home and classroom.
Super ideas at the CPD workshop which have developed my teaching ideas and strategies.
