VIBE in the Borders

in collaboration with Harris Trust

Love music and want to get creative? Join VIBE and the Harris Trust's SPaRKs programme, a FREE music-making project for 30 young people aged 11-18 who love singing or playing an instrument – no experience needed!

Whether you sing, rap, play an instrument, DJ, or have never played before, you’ll get to team up with guitarist Paul Griffiths and musicians from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Harris Trust's 'SPaRKs' programme to create your own music in a fun, relaxed space.

The Harris Trust's SPaRKs (Songwriting, Performance and Recording Kickstarter) Music Project started in 2022 and is aimed at, but not exclusive to, creative students (S3-S6) who are neurodivergent or who may be experiencing difficulties with mental health.

Students are offered the opportunity to gain skills relevant to the music industry through workshop-based learning. SPaRKs sessions provide an environment where young people can make connections with others who have a similar interest in music.
