VIBE in the Borders workshops

FREE cross-arts workshops

Join us in Galashiels for creative cross-arts workshops with SCO violinist Aisling O'Dea and artist Georgie Fay where you’ll get to make art, try out instruments and explore the exciting space where art and music meet. Using tapestry panels at the Great Tapestry of Scotland Museum such as Fingal’s Cave, Surge of the Sea and Pop Music as starting points, participants will work with Aisling and Georgie to create a collaborative artwork that explores connections between music and art.

These workshops offer a unique opportunity to listen, experiment, play and create, all in a welcoming and imaginative environment.
No experience needed and materials are provided. You don’t have to read music or play an instrument. Just bring your curiosity!

Here's what you'll get to try:

  • Try out art materials
  • Listen to live music played right in the room
  • Create artwork inspired by sounds you hear
  • Join in fun, guided improvisations
  • Explore how music and art connect

We look forward to seeing you get creative!

Workshops aimed at 11 to 18 year olds, as part of our Vibe in the Borders programme.
