New Music composed by students, performed by musicians from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra
A short documentary film of 2019 project

In light of the current situation created by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and following the advice received from the Scottish Government, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra has cancelled it's remaining live events and concerts for the 19-20 Season, including the InterConnect performance. Stay tuned for online activity and our future plans!

Developed in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, this project provides a new and exciting opportunity for emerging composers to write and develop pieces for a professional performance. Final year BMus Composition students and SCO musicians work together to explore instrumental techniques, refine ideas and to workshop and rehearse the compositions especially for the ensemble. The resulting pieces are showcased at a concert as part of the Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) Degree Show.

This project is delivered through a partnership between the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Edinburgh College of Art.

"It matters immensely as it allows the voice of the student to be heard through their hard work. Having the opportunity to hear it live at professional level was something to look forward to"
