Welcome to Masterworks 2021 - riSE and fLY

Masterworks concert and resource films are available to schools for free.

Masterworks 2021 features riSE and fLY by Julia Wolfe, performed by percussion wizard Colin Currie and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Rebecca Tong, and introduced by Rachel Leach. Our free online videos are designed to support the listening, learning, and composing aspects of the Curriculum for Excellence and are ideal for pupils studying for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. Alongside this, the Learning Pack introduces Julia Wolfe's composition techniques through enjoyable, interactive group activities designed for the classroom.

Masterworks is designed to open up new sound-worlds to young people, to encourage them to listen to a wider variety of genres, and to equip them with knowledge and musical tools to be more adventurous in their own compositions.

The resources will be available here until September 2024.
