SCO Bassoons Peter Whelan and Alison Green, joined by Graeme Brown, wish everyone a Merry Christmas with the late Kevin McCrae's Festive Medley for Bassoon Trio.
The original title for this work is Christmas for 3 Gruntpoles! Festive Medley for Bassoon Trio. Kevin affectionately referred to bassoons as gruntpoles and we're delighted to be performing one of his compositions.
Special thanks to SCO Violin Fiona Alexander for sourcing the music and we hope Alexander and Hamish enjoy hearing their father's piece performed!
Season's Greetings and best wishes for the New Year from all of us at the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
The Orchestra has enjoyed a successful 2012, filled with recordings, touring and some great concerts - thank you to all our supporters.
2013 will be just as good as we get the year underway with Schubert’s two C major symphonies, stop by A Little Book of Monsters, and spend 'two weeks in Vienna' with SCO Principal Conductor Robin Ticciati in the spring. We hope you can join us!
