Supersonic: SCO Brass 11/12

Image for Supersonic: SCO Brass 11/12

SCO Brass has created an exciting project for upper primary school (P6-7) with composer Alasdair Nicolson. The brass quintet and pupils explore themes which are closely linked to the curriculum through music. Pupils are encouraged to think about the environment and looking after each other. Pupils also learn about the quintet's fantastic brass instruments, learn a song especially composed by Alasdair Nicolson, take part in an interactive concert, compose their own music and some will even have the chance to conduct!

SCO Brass will be visiting schools during the week of 14-18 May 2012.  If you would like the brass quintet to visit your school please complete a booking form and return to the SCO by Friday 30 March.

Teacher feedback

"I really enjoyed taking part in the project and would encourage other schools to do so in the future. The day was superb. Pupils were fully challenged and the structure of each session enabled them to both appreciate the live performances as well as reflect on creating their own compositions to enhance the story. Truly a wonderful day. Thank you all so much!!"
