School pupils from East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire are attending this concert at Kilmarnock Grand Hall as part of Masterworks, SCO Education's flagship project for standard and higher grade students.

Advanced Higher Music pupils across six local authorities are taking part in Music Factory, a composition project led by composers Stephen Deazley and Alasdair Nicolson. They will lead composition workshops over 3 months alongside SCO musicians. The pupils' finished works will then be professionally recorded.

Today, the team led by Stephen Deazley, Lorna MacLaren, Adrian Bornet and Peter Franks are holding their first composition workshop in East Ayrshire.

Comparing Notes Glasgow Session 1

Comparing notes are our new informal and in-depth discussion groups based around a series of four concerts.  Not only do the groups offer the chance to learn about some of the music before you hear it, but they also give you the opportunity to reflect on the concerts, discuss it and lots more in future weeks.
