Tonight's concert at Queen’s Hall cancelled due to severe weather

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra has, with regret, made the decision to cancel its performance at the Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh Thursday 8 December.  The Orchestra has been monitoring the weather, travel conditions and government and police advice carefully.  In light of advice to avoid all travel between the hours of 2pm and 9pm, we have taken the decision to cancel the concert – this decision is taken on the grounds of the safety of our audience, performers and staff.

The Queen’s Hall Box Office will do its utmost to contact all ticket buyers to advise them of the cancellation and full refunds will be given.  The Orchestra sincerely regrets any disappointment or inconvenience caused.

The Orchestra and was due to perform a programme of music by Sibelius and Grieg and a new concerto for violin and orchestra by Haflidi Hallgrímsson, with conductor Enrique Mazzola and violinist Jennifer Pike.

The SCO has no reason to doubt that the concert at Glasgow City Halls, Friday 9 December, will proceed as scheduled.
