Sir Roger Norrington conducts Mozart's Idomeneo

Sir Roger Norrington conducts the Orchestra, SCO Chorus and a world-class line up of international soloists in a concert performance of Mozart’s masterpiece, Idomeneo, as part of the 2010 Edinburgh International Festival on 20 August.
A mythological story of love and jealousy, sacrifice and exile, natural disaster and divine intervention, Idomeneo is undoubtedly one of Mozart’s greatest operatic achievements. The cast includes Joyce DiDonato, Rosemary Joshua, Emma Bell and, in the title role, Kurt Streit.
Sir Roger Norrington replaces the late Sir Charles Mackerras.
This performance will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 18 September at 6pm.
